The Sharara suit is a three-piece clothing made up of a Kurti, dupatta, a bottom fitted from the thigh and loose while going down. This beautiful outfit has flared pants that are joined at or below the knee level. The skirt-like outline below the knee is heavily flared and also called the trumpet skirt because of its resemblance to the shape of an umbrella. It is usually of floor-sweeping length (called farshi) teamed with a Kurti and one or two dupattas. It originated from the design aesthetics of mughal royalties.
Whatever the occasion, you can be sure of your Sharara suit being perfect, versatile and easy to wear. Introduced by the mughals, and still one of the most preferred attires of the royal class mughals; the sharara suit has a smaller girth in the flares making it a resemblance of the Pakistani shalwar kameez. Sharara clothings are usually stitched in royal, expensive fabrics like zari or velvet, brocade,silk and embellished with zardozi, stone work, sequins and beads. It mostly has ornate embroidery done on the attire with thread and other motifs, this sharara suit style is better reserved for special occasions while styles with comparatively lighter embroidery can be worn to parties.
Wondering which occasions to wear your Sharara suit to?
The Sharara suit, due to its classy nature, isn't the clothing that can be worn as daily wear. It is advisable that you utilize it for special occasions, festivals, and top-notch invitations. Sharara suits are mostly worn to ceremonial occasions especially weddings, though it is worn to parties and other functions as well. Make sure you choose the perfect sharara-style suit to fit your occasion.
How to Style Your Sharara Suit with Panache
Styling your Sharara Suit for an Occasion is dependent on the type of suit it is. Sharara suits come in different forms from a party-styled sharara style to a simple plain sharara style, both should be used based on the occasion. The sharara suit when worn with two dupattas, one is used to drape the shoulders and the other, a veil. When styling your Sharara Suit, to get the perfect clothing, make sure you consider these;
- Your height, as this will also determine which footwear to wear with your Sharara Suit ( juttis, chappals, kolapuris, heels),
- Your jewelry, consider the occasion and the combination that can match the style (Indian jewelry with kinda, maang tikka or even a matching bag),
- Makeup and hairstyle, define your style so make sure you choose according to your occasion.
